The AIP diet consists mainly of meat protein and fruits and veggies!* May these lists help you navigate through the aisles as you become reacquainted with your AIP shopping experience!
Trader Joe’s
Organic Vegetables: romaine, spinach, arugula, spring mix, carrots, cucumber, broccoli, celery, zucchini, brussel sprouts, raw purple beets, precooked yellow beets, asparagus, yellow and purple onion, sweet potatoes/yams (not organic,) butternut/kabocha/acorn/spaghetti squash (not organic,) garlic, cilantro, chives
Organic Fruit: apples, peaches, pears, grapes, avocado (not organic,) lemons, limes, grapefruit, kiwi, Mexican papaya, Asian pears (not organic,) oranges, cherries

*The EWG's 2018 Shopper's Guide to Pesticides in Produce is a helpful tool in knowing when to buy organic fruits and veggies. Meats should be organic, hormone free, antibiotic free, nitrate free, and grass feed; fish should be wild caught.
**While some doctors may recommend adding/subtracting certain food items or groups to the AIP protocol based on patients needs, in general the AIP diet avoids the following:
